SENA SHIP DESIGN offers a wide variety range of professional and technical Naval Architecture and Consultancy services with our analytical and design skills to deliver comprehensive solutions, from early concept and feasibility studies, contract and class-level design to detailed production engineering, commissioning and refit. Working across all stages of design, production, commissioning and refit.
We focus on production-friendly design while ensuring an energy-efficient operation of the ship. For example, we can analyze novel fuels and hybrid machinery solutions in different concepts. For local transport, direct battery-driven solutions may be the key, whereas a hydrogen-based solution might be a better option for short voyages. For deep-sea shipping, ammonia-based machinery might be a viable option.
The scope of design & engineering services provided by SENA for new vessels is divided into the following stages: concept design, basic design and detailed design. Each of these design stages involves a greater level of detail while taking into consideration the requirements of the client and regulatory bodies.
SENA SHIP DESIGN can assist clients with the development of conceptual vessel design ideas. From first feasibility studies right through to the ship’s Classification Society approval and production drawings.
We draw up a project plan for your project, selecting the packages you need. Main phases in the project plan are: concept Design – Basic Design– Detail Design.
SENA SHIP DESIGN develop the concept design for the ship owner in order to be able to check the required investment and the feasibility of the intended vessel concept. This concept enables useful insights through the application of various advanced simulations, which we perform in-house, the starting point for the feasibility study is usually the client’s business plan or basic description of the vessel.
In this stage SENA SHIP DESIGN will prepare and deliver to the Client the following documents:
A concept design project typically proceeds through different sequential phases
The feasibility project’s goal is to create the initial vessel design for the ship owner, assessing the required investment and concept feasibility.
The objective of the tender/contract design is to develop concept design for the shipbuilding contract.
The feasibility project’s goal is to create the initial vessel design for the ship owner.
The feasibility project’s goal is to create the initial vessel design for the ship owner, assessing the required investment and concept feasibility. First SENA SHIP DESIGN personnel would meet with the client to establish exactly what type of vessel they are looking for. a series of parameters are defined, such as area of operation, endurance, speed, cargo, weight, capacity, fuel and crew, etc.
Based on the ship’s mission requirements from the Client, and after a series of calculations and analyses: optimum main dimensions, hull form, hydrostatics, freeboard, cargo and tank capacities, subdivision, space requirements, propulsion, weight estimating, trim and stability, power balance, main equipment characteristics, applicable Rules and Regulations etc.
SENA SHIP DESIGN would produce a concept design and outline technical specification all the outfit and machinery to be installed in the new vessel. The design and specification would then be forwarded to the Client for their approval, with modifications carried out to the design and specification until the Client is completely satisfied that he is getting these ship requirements.
We create ship concepts based on your initial requirements. Our services include all the necessary documentation and analysis for a feasible solution that enables the most energy efficient operations.
The objective of the tender/contract design is to develop concept design for the shipbuilding contract.
The objective of the tender/contract design is to develop concept design for the shipbuilding contract, In the newbuilding segment, we support you in the preparation of RFQ documents to tender your projects to shipyards. It typically begins by reviewing bids, creating a shortlist, and arranging technical clarification meetings with selected yards. Concurrently, a list of potential builders is produced in conjunction with the Client.
SENA SHIP DESIGN also can approach alternative main machinery suppliers to gather quotations, this information is then discussed with the Client along with the quotations received from the builders, the benefit of paying attention to this step is a right approach to the preliminary material and equipment list which leads to more accurate cost estimation.
In this stage SENA SHIP DESIGN will prepare and deliver to the Client the following documents:
SENA SHIP DESIGN provides basic design package documentation to develop the project in order to achieve approvals from the classification society such as DNV, Lloyd’s Register and ABS, BV, RINA, flag state, other related authorities. includes a full set of construction and outfit plans, which enable the shipyard to build the vessel exactly to the owner’s specification. This means that an efficient basic design class and flag should be decided upon. At the same time, the project will be technically defined to allow the procurement of the main equipment. The basic design process cannot be completed without the selection of manufacturers for the main systems, as makers’ data is required for the design.
Basic design is typically ordered by a shipyard after the shipbuilding contract has been made. However, basic design can also be initiated by owners before the shipbuilding contract to mitigate risks, especially for first-of-a-kind vessels with unique ship design features. This approach requires the owner’s involvement in making the classification agreement and selection of main equipment makers, subject to the shipbuilding contract.
SENA SHIP DESIGN work with different authorities and class societies. We can assist with everything regarding drawings and documents required by authorities and classification societies
In this stage SENA SHIP DESIGN will prepare and deliver the complete basic design packages covering all documentation based on Class requirements, such as:
The last step before starting with steel cutting and building the vessel is detail engineering and providing production information. Detailed Engineering is the bridge between a certified design and a physical vessel. At SENA, we deliver comprehensive production packages that translate complex naval architecture into clear, executable instructions for the shipyard.
Detailed design scope from SENA is always aligned with the yard’s requirements and practices and it can include all or the selected design disciplines. we Working in close contact with our clients, putting great effort in their work to assure quality of the delivered engineering package.
In this stage SENA SHIP DESIGN will prepare and deliver the complete basic design packages covering all documentation based on Class requirements, such as:
3D hull model, Production Drawings, Nesting Sketches, Cutting Codes, Assembly Drawings, Profile Sketches, Material lists (Plates, Profile), Bending Information, Weight and COG reports, etc.
3D Modelling, Production Drawings of Platforms, Foundations, Ladders, Handrail, Manholes and etc.
3D Modelling of Equipment, Piping, HVAC, cable trays, Workshop Documentation for Piping arrangements and Isometric drawings, Pipe spooling, Pipe supports, Modular design, HVAC drawings, duct spools and nesting,
With involvement many projects up to date, we assist clients with the development of conceptual vessel design ideas. From first feasibility studies right through to the ship’s Classification Society approval and production drawings
SENA SHIP DESIGN delivers innovative naval architecture solutions tailored to modern maritime operations.
We are passionate ship designers supporting our clients in realising their vision during all phases of the shipbuilding process by provide assistance from the early steps of a project with our multi-disciplinary team, From feasibility studies, and concept design, to a full engineer and production package, to yard selection, and production support.
